Before You Begin

Please read these instructions carefully before your first injection. If you have any questions, contact your prescribing clinician.

What You'll Need

  • Your Medivive NAD+ Pen
  • Alcohol swabs
  • A sharps disposal container

Storage Requirements

Keep your pen refrigerated between 2–8°C (36–46°F) at all times. Do not freeze. If left unrefrigerated briefly, the pen remains stable at room temperature for short periods.

Injection Steps

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Clean the injection site (abdomen or thigh) with an alcohol swab and let it dry.
  2. Remove the pen cap and inspect the solution. It should be clear and colorless to pale yellow. Do not use if cloudy or discolored.
  3. Prime if needed. If this is a new pen, follow any priming instructions on the packaging to ensure proper flow.
  4. Insert the needle into the skin at a 45–90° angle. For most injection sites, pinching the skin slightly can help.
  5. Depress the plunger slowly until the full dose is delivered. Rushing may cause discomfort.
  6. Keep the needle in place for 10–15 seconds after the dose is delivered to minimize leakage.
  7. Remove and dispose of the needle safely in your sharps container. Replace the pen cap and return to refrigeration.

Important Notes

Do not share your pen with others. Each pen is for single-patient use only. Use a new sterile needle for each injection.

If You Miss a Dose

Simply resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not double up or take extra doses to compensate for a missed dose.

Minor Dripping

Some minor dripping at the injection site after removing the needle is normal. Keeping the needle in place for 10–15 seconds helps minimize this.

Traveling with Your Pen

Use a cold-pack travel case to maintain proper temperature (36–46°F / 2–8°C). When flying, keep your pen in your carry-on bag, not checked luggage.

Proper Disposal

Used pens and needles must be placed in an FDA-cleared sharps disposal container. When full, follow your local pharmacy or health department's instructions for safe disposal.

Never throw loose needles or pens in regular household trash.
